Course Objectives –

The main objective of this module is to review the clinical anatomy and neurophysiology of the peripheral and central pain pathways responsible for cranial pain perception. Emphasis will be placed on the neurological influences of multiple organ system function as it pertains primarily to the production of the most common craniofascial pain syndromes. The most common syndromes involving head pain from migraines to trigeminal neuralgia will be reviewed. Afferent pain pathways from the face will be reviewed in regards to their structure and function. Chiropractic applications specific to cranial pain will be presented.
