Description

Course Objectives –

1. Thorough understanding of the clinical anatomy and neurophysiological structure of the PNS
2. Clinical relevant understanding of the anatomy of brachial, lumbar and sacral plexus’s.
3. Reaction of peripheral nerves to compression and environmental factors that would increase the susceptibility of a nerve to compressive forces.
4. The relationship of cortical hemisphericity to the development, propagation and maintenance of various peripheral nerve vascular and compressive lesions.
5. The Use of Pulse Oximetry as a clinical tool to measure vasculature influences on peripheral nerve compressive syndromes and as a measure of dysautonomia
6. Understanding of the pathophysiology associated with the following peripheral nerve lesions, their differential diagnosis and their conservative management:
   1. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
   2. Prontor Teres Syndrome
   3. Cubitel Tunnel Syndrome
   4. Compressive Lesions involving the Radial Nerve
   5. TOS
   6. Cervical Root Lesions
   7. Compressive Root Lesions involving the Lumbar and Sacral Plexus
   8. Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
   9. Tibial Nerve Lesions at the Fibular Head
   10. Piriformis Syndromes
   11. Sciatic Nerve Lesions
   12. Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve Lesions
   13. Obturator Nerve Lesions
7. The understanding of the use of manipulative and non manipulative modalities in the treatment of peripheral and central nerve lesions in the hemispheric model of brain activity.
