Frank Anderson, MDRelated seminars and products
Frank Guastella Anderson, MD, completed his residency and was a clinical instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is both a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. He specializes in the treatment of trauma and dissociation and is passionate about teaching brain-based psychotherapy and integrating current neuroscience knowledge with the IFS model of therapy.
Dr. Anderson is the vice chair of the Foundation for Self Leadership. He is a trainer at the Center for Self Leadership with Richard Schwartz, Ph.D., and maintains a long affiliation with, and trains for, Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Center at Justice Resource Center in Boston, MA.
Dr. Anderson has lectured extensively on the Neurobiology of PTSD and Dissociation and wrote the chapter “Who’s Taking What” Connecting Neuroscience, Psychopharmacology and Internal Family Systems for Trauma in Internal Family Systems Therapy-New Dimensions. He co-authored a chapter on “What IFS Brings to Trauma Treatment in Innovations and Elaborations in Internal Family Systems Therapy” and recently co-authored “Internal Family Systems Skills Training Manual.”
Dr. Anderson maintains a private practice in Concord, MA, and serves as an Advisor to the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP).

Cece Sykes, LCSWRelated seminars and products
Cece Sykes is an IFS Senior Trainer and consultant with over thirty years of clinical experience with individuals, couples and families. She specializes in recovery from trauma and addictive process and her chapter “An IFS Lens on Addiction: Compassion for Extreme Parts” appears in Innovations and Elaborations in IFS (Routledge, 2016). Cece lectures and consults across the US and internationally and is widely recognized for her warmth, clarity and humor. She lives and works in the city of Chicago.
In 1992 Cece opened her private practice, treating adults, couples and families. She also taught experiential psychology seminars for women at Governors State University for five years and for three years was adjunct faculty at the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Cece expanded her clinical focus to include the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of psychotherapy in the late 1990’s. She is a Senior Trainer for the Internal Family Systems Institute and beginning in 2004 led level one, two and level three IFS training programs across the country and internationally. Cece contributed a chapter on IFS approaches to treating addictive process in the 2016 book Innovations and Elaborations . She is currently co-authoring a manual on how to use the IFS model to understand and treat addictive processes, scheduled for publication in 2021.

Richard Schwartz, PhDRelated seminars and products
Richard Schwartz began his career as a systemic family therapist and an academic and he is now on the Faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Meadows treatment center in Arizona. Grounded in systems thinking, Dr. Schwartz developed the Internal Family Systems model (IFS) model in response to clients’ descriptions of various parts within themselves. In 2000, he founded the IFS Institute (www.ifs-institute.com), which offers three levels of trainings and workshops in IFS for professionals and the general public, both in this country and abroad. A featured speaker for national professional organizations, Dr. Schwartz has published many books and over fifty articles about IFS.
