A change handbook intended for people who want more and better be it emotionally, physically, or materially and, crucially, who want the improvements they achieve in their relationships and circumstances to last. The focus is on how to create welcome changes in thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and circumstances, and how to adjust to and manage the process involved in any kind of change. Based on decades of firsthand experience, this book contains hundreds of realistic affirmations as well as personal stories to comfort, inspire and uplift. There is also a section on what not to do, which covers the pitfalls of overdosing on positive thinking, and much throughout about how to safely use the power of the mind to achieve and accomplish inwardly and outwardly, and navigate the emotional hollows that can sometimes accompany inner change. Common myths, such as that sickness and suffering is the result of ‘wrong’ thinking and can be fixed by ‘right’ thinking, are dispelled with logic and reason. As a result of career achievements the author’s life story is in the National Sound Archives of Great Britain. She now works as a life coach/life consultant. Now a grandmother, Valerie Thompson comes from dysfunctional and humble roots (…I was a nervous child, full of tics and squints…), and her interest in the workings of the mind and personal development is lifelong. She has benefited from talking therapy, and, from 1986 until 1989, formally studied New Thought/Positive Thinking with a leading American New Thought movement that is now part of United Centres for Spiritual Living. She is also author of Mastering The Euromarkets, (Irwin Professional, 1996).
