Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is not practiced exclusively on the ground. Actually, in the championships, the fights start in a standing position. Unfortunately, that aspect of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is often forgotten in training practices and a lot of people turn to Judo techniques as a complement. Yet, classical Judo throws are not enough; they need to be adapted to the Jiu Jitsu specificities.
