What You’ll Discover in These 7 Weeks
Course sessions are on Wednesdays at Noon Pacific.
In this 7-week transformational intensive, Heidi will guide you through the fundamental skills and competencies you’ll need to step into authentic and effective feminine leadership or positive change. Live teachings, interactive training sessions, and experiential practices with Heidi will give you a complete holistic understanding of the skills and principles you’ll need to find your why, step into your destiny, and make your most meaningful contribution to our world.
Module 1: The Heart of Activism (April 24)
While the turmoil we’re contending with likely breaks your heart (or makes your blood boil with rage), one thing it’s also doing is giving you a sacred opportunity to make critical choices about how to stand up and act. How does your deep-seated, authentic passion DRIVE you to show up fully and answer the call? In this module, you’ll dive into practical ways to create heart-level change. You’ll also:
- Discover small action steps you can take to create big change, in all forms of activism — from personal to public
- Be given powerful exercises to discern your calling, share your wisdom, and pinpoint your direction
- Dispel myths about transformational work and activism
- Explore what feminine leadership is and isn’t — and why it’s become a mandate for transformation
- Examine the similarities and differences between feminine leadership and leading with the feminine
- Delve into how feminine leadership applies to men
- Explore how women’s roles and girls’ roles connect with politics and spirituality
- Find out precisely how to turn spiritual ideas into inspiredaction
And to help you embody feminine leadership, you’ll be given daily practicesfor mindfulness, active listening, gratitude, forgiveness, and self-care — plus empowering yoga poses and other somatic exercises.
Module 2: Identifying Your Unique WHY — Aligning With Your Authentic Self (May 1)
Have you had glimpses, moments, or times in your life when you knew what you were meant to do? Knowing your sacred why is essential to authentic activism and a fulfilling life. Once you know your why, you open to a radical clarity about what you’re here to do. In this module, you’ll identify your why, and how to shape how you show up in the world through your why. You’ll also:
- Hear a vulnerable personal story as Heidi shares her experience of not having known her why (not to mention who, how, or what)
- Find out exactly how Heidi and others started showing up to their calling by identifying their why
- Step into a simple, profound 5-step visualization process to tune in to your why
- Dive even deeper into the discovery of your why during the small-group session, where you’ll have the chance to ask each other clarifying questions, support one another, and see what resonates
- Practice an embodied meditation to strengthen your motivation and get crystal clear on what your why calls you to
- From yourwhy, begin to answer, “Is this mine to do?”
Module 3: What Is Yours to Do in the World (May 8)
How do you practice authentic activism as a revolutionary act, from the inside out? To paraphrase Eckhart Tolle, “Don’t ask what you want to do — ask what the world wants to do through you.” In this module, you’ll dive deep into what you’re being called to do — and you’ll become more equipped. You’ll also:
- Be given practices for living your values – so your values translate into activism
- Start overcoming internal barriers to acting on your values
- Discover how to simplify from all the things you’re doing, distilling down to the core of where your heart screams “YES!”
- Find out how to make your passion focused, productive, meaningful, and life-giving
- Explore practices for stepping back in order to step up, getting quiet to get loud
- Examine your unique gifts, skills, and talents
- Identify what makes you uncomfortable, what makes you scared, and where you need growth
- Delve into the critical skill of civic empathy
Module 4: Facing the Naysayers (Internal & External) (May 15)
How do you practice the heart of activism while facing inner and outer critics? Challenges give us opportunities to better ourselves and our world. In this module, you’ll get tools and a framework for handling the challenges of criticism and converting them into energy for creating positive change. You’ll also explore:
- Righteous rage
- Strategies to start getting comfortable outside your comfort zone
- How to address the shadow/inner critic and limiting beliefs
- How society or individuals send you the message that you’re not ready or not good enough (and how to love past that scorn)
- The power of naming the negativity and discouragement — and seeing the opportunity in the experience
- How to identify, name, and experience a feeling, and then set it aside
Module 5: Self-Care — Sustaining Your Why (May 22)
How do you ensure personal wellness in order to create local and global wellness? In this module, you’ll cultivate your capacity for fierceness and courage through the essential ingredient for catalyzing change that every woman needs: self-care. You’ll also:
- Discover why self-care isn’t just about baths and facemasks — and what YOU need to keep your mind, body and spirit healthy
- Build a lifestyle that doesn’t burn you out, but deeply fulfills you
- Practice breathing as a radical act of service, and feel what justice feels like in your body
- Practice “what’s good for the body is good for the planet,” through your shopping and nutrition choices
- Receive practices for nourishing your body and nourishing your soul so you can nourish the world
- Examine to what extent self-care and beauty connect with public image
- Dive into the critical democratization of wellbeing
Module 6: Building a Network for Your Next Steps (Integration) — Springboard Into Activism (June 5)
How can you thoughtfully and inclusively implement your why into the work you do in the world? And how can you call the world not just to justice but to JOY? In this module, you’ll delve into how to create a circle of support and tap into like-minded communities and resources. You’ll also explore:
- How to connect to what’s happening in our communities with awareness, vulnerability, and action
- A framework to guide you in creating a network of supportive allies
- Frontline communities, the movements that are happening inside of them, and what they need
- How those who are closest to the pain are closest to the solution
- Critical strategies for active listening
- Ways to bring together the collective agendas of the many to a multidimensional, unified, actionable vision
- How to lift up others, address conflict, and harmonize polarities while tearing down the hierarchy
- Using the power of the potluck to start conversations, build relationships, and support each other in our why
Module 7: Leadership — Movement-Building That Inspires (June 12)
What does sacred leadership look like as we engage our world to move progress forward? In this module, we’ll dive into an interactive conversation about educating and inspiring others. Heidi will share more deeply about her experiences as a civic leader and community organizer — and invite you to share your experiences and hopes for moving your “why” forward and inspiring others to join you. You’ll also:
- Receive tools to empower you to join or form local groups — so you can create momentum around key issues and your why
- Review the characteristics that leaders you admire embody
- Explore how movement-building is about saying “YES!” to your own why by showing up as uniquely you
- Determine your commitment and the value of writing sacred contracts
- Be guided through a process to crystalize your plan
