Session Description: 

This session will address the unique goals of Palliative Wound Management. You will learn how to overcome such challenges as: wound odor, excessive bleeding, exudate, necrotic tissue, pain, peri-wound breakdown, itching, body image and care giver skills. You will also learn more about commonly encountered wounds in palliative care such as Kennedy Terminal Ulcer, Marjolin, Kaposi Sarcoma, fungating Wounds, pressure ulcers, and fistulas. Take away interventions and topical product knowledge you can utilize during palliative wound management.

1. Outline the major goals of palliative wound management
2. Describe various types of wounds and complications encountered in palliative wound management
3. Identify interventions and products for wound treatment as they relate to palliative wound management
