Aikido is used very effectively in self-defense and melee combat. The DVD First International Exposition of Yoshinkan Aikido in Toronto is a seminar conducted by the head of Soke Gozo Aikido school and the teacher Gozo Shioda Yoshinkan, held in Toronto Canada on June 23, 1990.
